If you remember the famous dialogue of superstar Rajesh Khanna from the movie Anand; "Babumoshai, Zindagi Badi Honi Chahiye... Lambi Nahi". It means we live a big life, impactful life, meaningful life, not necessarily a long life!
The systematic Investment Plan (SIP) in MF works just the opposite. Your SIP Badi ho ya na ho... Lambi jaroor honi chahiye. It means SIP monthly contribution whether small or big size doesn't matter, what matters the length of SIP duration. It also means that it's always better to do SIP with a small monthly amount having longer tenure rather than a big-ticket size SIP with short tenure.
The power of compounding although starts from day one of SIP investment, but give immense effect after 15-20 years. As to keep on investing through SIP for 2 decades or so requires discipline, patience, conviction & mindset, do not get surprised if hardly less than 1% of investors get actually benefitted, rest all dropout in between.
